So I sometimes play youtube videos in my main video. I am not a gamer. I add a browser source and let the video play inside the main video. This simple procedure was fine for a long time, but recently the youtube video has been getting stuck with one frame appearing for maybe 3 minutes before it jerks to another frame which will also get stuck. I am still using the same computer with the same specs--and I had no problem until recently.
I am no programer and find even the basic interface of OBS quite challenging. However, I have looked at many videos and advice pages and tried to apply what I could. FPS was stuck on the default for a long time and I started changing it around. Nothing really improved things, though rather ridiculously, when I manually altered it to 1 FPS it was rather better but got stuck after a while. I changed the video bit rate from the default up to 8000 on some advice---but none of it seemed to make much difference. Bass resolution is the same as my screen 969x545 outpit 724x408. FPSvalue is set at 30 currently--but I've tried all sorts of values. The basic point is it stopped working on the defaults which I happily used for a long time and still isn't working after I fiddled around.
I know it is most likely a CPU thing. But why was it working fine before on the same computer? I have looked for programs that might have suddenly sucked out the resources of the CPU but there aren't any. Everything looks much the same as before. CPU and battery are set to max. power. I tried deleting/disabling a whole bunch of power sucking programs--but no change. I deleted OBS and downloaded it again adding sources afresh--but no dice.
If any of you OBS wizards can help out I'd be really grateful as I don't know what to do next. I see the request to add a log file but I don't even know what that is, how I'd do it--or if it would even be of any use in this case.
Many thanks!
