Should warn/avoid v.26+ update on Windows 7

OBS v.25 worked on Windows 7, while v.26 does not. But: the updater doesn't give any signal or warning about this. So someone working on Windows 7 will follow the request for update, update to v.26, and then have a non-functional install (e.g., unable to record).

Ideally the system should avoid doing the update on Win7 past v.25. Failing that, there should at least be a highly visible warning/message that updates past v.25 are inappropriate on Win7.

Do you mean that (a) the warn/avoid update feature can be added, or (b) you expect that v. 26 should work on Win7? For me, it does not (auto-update indeed left my install unable to record). See the following support thread:
