Question / Help Severe hanging when attempting to go live

I'm new to OBS and have been trying to get it to livestream with YouTube and it never wants to work. I setup the software and YouTube properly but every time I attempt to go live it just hangs and the loading circle of death just keeps spinning and spinning. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Please help!

I think pretty much everybody always suggests throwing the most capable machine you can justify at OBS. There are always ways of working around limitations if you're willing to accept compromises, but there are limits. Machines that are 9 or 10 years old or older just may not have the capability to run OBS effectively.

It would be better than what you have. The R7 M265 is still a low-end GPU, but it's 4 years newer than the M380.

I would just ve using it for livestreaming on youtube, not gaming or gaming while streamlining l. Would it be good enough for that?

Darn auto correct...I would just be using it for livestreaming on youtube, not gaming or gaming while streaming. Would it be good enough for that?

Possibly. Although I'd suggest you may get better performance for encoding by getting a laptop with an Nvidia GPU in it that supports NVENC. (Not all the mobile ones do-- for instance, the 930M and 940M ones don't.

This would mean your CPU would not need to encode the stream.

Like I said, I will just be using it to livestream on YouTube, no gaming or streaming and gaming and it meets and exceeds the requirements for OBS. I only have a limited budget and this machine fell within that budget.
