Ok, so I'm fairly new to OBS but initially had great success and now I'm running into major problems...
My setup is a Blackmagic Extreme doing video capture from a 720p 59.94 HDMI source. My initial hope was to use the audio off of the BlackMagic device but right away I ran into problems where the sound from that interface was just a bunch of digital noise so I abandoned that and changed to a M-Audio FastTrack Pro into Loopback (Mac) and that was somewhat spotty but it ended up working. By spotty I mean I had to delete and re-add the sound capture source from OBS several times per session in order to be able to see levels and start my stream.
The above setup worked for about 6 streaming sessions pretty consistently, other than having to delete and re-add the source in order to see its signal it worked pretty well. Mind you I have not changed anything on my setup (Running MacOS Sierra). Today I tried to do another stream and when I finally got the FastTrack to connect I was able to monitor my input and hear nice clean signal. I started the stream and after a few seconds of good quality audio it degraded into a severely choppy mess. (http://bit.ly/2cuebMK) This is an example that you can hear good quality audio for a few seconds at the beginning of the stream and it degrades into something unlistenable. Mind you, I can still monitor the audio locally on my computer through Loopback and it sounds great.
After restarting Loopback, OBS, and my entire system countless times and getting the same result, I tried going into OBS settings --> Audio and adding the FastTrack as the Mic/Auxillary audio Device. This yielded slightly better results but the audio still clipped every second or so. (http://bit.ly/2d5Rgn6) In this clip I was trying to switch between my audio input source and the Mic/Aux.
I gave up at this point and went on doing other stuff for my show but came back after about 15 minutes and added the source through Loopback yet again and it started working flawlessly. Again, I made no major changes other than deleting and re-adding the source. You can view this clip and fast forward about 16 minutes in and the audio starts working. (http://bit.ly/2cAo7D6)
One minor issue I still have is that there is a slight crackling on the audio, kind of like listening to a dusty record.
Here's the link to my current log file that in the end finally worked. https://gist.github.com/947c3846ab2ab9f8a17ac190076f34c3
Does anyone have any ideas on what problem I might be having and how to correct it? I really like the OBS package but it's instability has me searching for possible other solutions (that don't seem to exist.
FYI: This is not a "for profit" venture. It's a stream that the band I work for (Pretty Lights) does occasionally for friends, family and fan club. We don't charge anyone or make any money off of it.
Thanks a lot for any help!
