2. OBS Studio is powerful software, which also happens to be free open-source. As is true with most such s/w, documentation is on the lighter side. Personally, I find well thought out and edited documentation far more valuable/useful than tutorial videos. My first recommendation - make sure audio and vide coming thru to Operating System properly. Due to OBS Studio resource locking, that means this 1st step is done with OBS Studio NOT running (which does NOT mean sitting in the background). Cheap video capture devices are known for problematic drivers, and sometimes you get what you pay for... though in your case, I'd make sure setup is correct before assuming a hardware/driver problem.
You can use Windows Recorder or similar to make sure Capture device is working properly. ONLY after confirming at OS layer, should you move onto OBS Studio setup
