I keep getting frame drops. Can someone give me the best stream settings for streaming games like csgo etc? I have 2 GTX 1070s and 32gb of ram a I7 6700K and my download is 330 and upload is 33.
Hey thank you for the quick reply. So i used those settings and it all works fine but sometimes when i watch my stream there is little micro stutters and it shows on obs i have dropped frames but when im playing i dont stutter and neither does my obs. How can i fix this?Nice set up you got there man, more than decent.
Everyone has their own tweaking to do on their stream setups but I can suggest starting up with these settings:
Encoder: x264 (CPU Encoder)
Bitrate: Twitch = 2500 (3500 if you dont really care too much if a sum of your viewers buffer)
Youtube = 5000 (it has transcoding for everyone so anyone who buffers for you can set a lower quality)
Downscale to 720p.
Audio bitrate: 128 is good enough.
Keyframes: 2
Use CBR (Constant Bitrate)
FPS: 60fps (Since you're going to be playing more fast paced games)
lastly, set your encoder preset to veryfast to start. Since you have a 6700k you should be able to drop it lower especially while playing a game like CSGO that doesn't require much resources. Check your CPU usage while streaming, if it's floating through with the veryfast preset, lower it again.. keep slowing it down till you find the sweet spot for your CPU
Remember, the slower the preset, the longer the CPU takes to render the image. Thus, giving a better quality image at the end.
Also, every broadcaster's settings are different. You can use this as a base, try to understand what each setting does, tweak them as you go along to get what works for you!
im downscaling to 720 and capped obs to 30 fps and im still getting dropped frames and on stream every few minutes you can notice lag, but in game when i play i see no lag and i dont see lag in the obs screen either but obs shows me it has dropped frames and im using veryfast preset. heres a logSure you're downscaling to 720p? If you're not then the 1080p will do that.
What encoder preset did you stop at? Could be that as well.
