Question / Help Settings for Youtube

Hello,

I need some help with settings for Youtube and prerecorded videos.

a) Setup:
I have a Camcorder via a Intensity Shuttle connected to my PC (Win 7) that gives the signal to OSB.
The resolution is 1920x1280. It took me some time to get it to work (I had audio working but a black screen) and I capture via the Decklink option.

b) Youtube Stream
The stream works well on Youtube, but I always get the message that 1920 is not optimal. All my efforts in settings to go to 1080 do not work.

So my first question is, how to arrive at this setup? This means to either have the input to 1080 or to have OSB deliver 1080.

c) In addition I need to play a prerecorded video in the stream. The video is MP4 1280*720, 25 frames and 48 audio. During the Livestream test, the video starts to play but video and audio are fully out of sync. I guess that it either needs a higher or lower resolution, but I wonder as a video played in another test yesterday worked fine.

There is no problem to produce the video in the resolution needed, I just need to make sure that it plays without issues.

Thus my question is if there is a setting in OBS where I can downscale own videos to make it fit to the stream? If not, what do I have to do/what are the rules to have the setup working?

Thank you very much in advance!
best regards

Thanks - superfast!
I uploaded the file. Can you see it as I cannot.
Path names have been XXXed.

one addition to my first post as I just watched the recorded test:

I have black bars left an right while I see the cam full screen (without the bars) in OBS.
Thanks

The black bars in that case are a player thing and not an OBS or a file thing.

22:42:59.011: Output 'adv_stream': Number of skipped frames due to encoding lag: 16602 (22.4%)

But your system isn't really capable of 1080p.

Also, you can add blackmagic intensity and decklink devices via the blackmagic source option instead of directshow.

Something is missing in log file, between "output resolution: 1280x720" and, x264 encoder width:1920, height:1280.
Probably any changes to base/output resolution fails to log when changed, until OBS is relaunched. Show us more logs?

Check both your base and output resolution in OBS settings, make sure they are both 1920x1080, or lower.

Also worth noting that 1920x1280 isn't a resolution that's supported by, well, anything. You probably want 1920x1080 instead. That's likely to be where your black bars are coming from,

Thank you all very much for your help, much appreciated.

The 1920x1280 was a typo error. Thanks for pointing out. I will change it and see what happens.

Concerning the encoding lag: I have one question prior to trying a higher specs machine as this one should be ok: How can I make sure that the NVIDA card is chosen? I see it in the log and in tutorials on the old OBS I see settings where a specific card is set. I cannot activate the option in settings.

As I also tried Facebook Live with the cam and playing a video prior to Youtube. I quickly screened the logs with the feedback in your answers and there was almost no lag.

Thanks and best regards

NVENC requires recent NVidia graphics, yours is probably not one of them https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/nvenc-dont-work.14497/

QuickSync need intel sandy bridge CPU or later, with newer CPU have better encoding quality. Your CPU i7-2720QM have QuickSync, but is only an old sandy bridge so the quality may not be so good.

If frame drops/skips is a problem when using x264, to reduce CPU and reduce frame drops, you may change preset from "VeryFast" to "SuperFast" as a small cost of quality or bigger file size.
