Hey, guys.
OK. So, Ive got my individual sound tracks and I'm recording a gaming video for YouTube. I have my mic (for the voice over) set at around -7 and my audio out set around -18 (though it could stand to be maybe -19 or -20.5, still playing around with it). All good, I record the video, go to put it in Audacity to do a final check on how the audio is together and it seems a little quiet. So, I check the RMS.
Now. Even though my mic is around -7, the RMS on the mic in Audacity is -40.92. while the audio out is this...
Are these acceptable numbers for a YouTube Video, or do I need to change them by using the amplifier in Audacity? I've read for example that the standard for voice overs is around -20, I think, but I've tried pushing the mic up that high in Audacity and its awful. Any advice on this would be appreciated. Cheers guys.
