Hey, I'm new to this forum. I apologize if I ask anything that's been covered before, but I've been searching around and could use some advice on getting started. I'm interested in recording live studio performances of bands with (ideally) multiple cameras, and routing the audio from my DAW to OBS Studio, then streaming on Facebook.
I'm confident my PC/internet can handle it. I have 2 GoPros and 2 Canon DSLRs which I'd like to connect via their USB/HDMI outputs. I'm willing to settle for 1 camera if it turns out it's too expensive to get an OBS supported multiple input capture card, but I'd like to know what's possible, and what it would require.
I'm working with large multitrack audio recordings, miking all drums, guitar/bass cabs, etc... and it would be great to mix beforehand in Cubase and output to OBS.
1. What do you guys recommend for a capture card? Are there any supported capture cards with multiple inputs? BMD Intensity 3.0 is compatible and highly regarded, but has one input. Is it possible to use multiple capture cards with individual inputs simultaneously for multicam recording? Can an HDMI splitter be used to switch between cameras?
2. Has anyone used Voxengo Recorder to route the output from Cubase to OBS? Is this possible/what options do I have for audio? Willing to consider other DAWs if necessary.
I've never done this before, but I'm interested to learning. If anyone has done anything similar, or if there is anything I'm not considering, please let me know what you think! If we could pull this off it would be awesome!
