Separating Music Audio from Game Audio

Ive looked online and browsed through the Forums

I want to ensure my Spotify isnt recorded to my VOD.

If I am correct in understanding, I want Track 6 to be my VOD recording, IF I unselect Track 6 on my Spotify Audio and leave on Track 1, that should theoretically keep it from getting Recorded while live correct?

There's a couple of things needed to do to ensure Spotify doesnt appear in the final VOD footage:
  • Make sure you have separated out your Spotify audio into a separate Source (such as using the Application Audio Output Capture source and adding in Sppotify as the Executable)
  • In the Advanced Audio Properties (the Cog icon in the corner of the Audio Mixer), select the tracks where you want Spotify to be audible, and deslect the tracks where you want it to not be.
Here's where some fiddly bits come into play:

Are you Livestreaming and want Spotify to appear there, but not in the final VOD (ie through Twitch?) If so:
  1. Go to Settings > Output and change the output mode at the top to "Advanced" to gain more control of your final Audio output.
  2. Under the "Streaming" tab, set the Audio track for your livestream to the one with Spotify active in it.
  3. Enable "Twitch VOD Track" and choose a track that doesn't have Spotify enabled to have your VOD recording on Twitch to be Spotify-free!
If you are streaming but local recording your footage as well; Follow Steps 1-2, then move over to the "Recording" tab and do the the steps in Step 3 in the "Audio Track" section.

Do you have your Desktop Audio captured in the Audio Settings? (Settings > Audio)

If yes, be aware that this source will likely also be capturing ALL audio, including Spotify (the Application Audio source created at the top of this message is just a duplicate of that one part)

Others may have a better way to manage this, but I would suggest Disabling your Desktop Audio in the Audio settings, and manually adding each source you want to capture in as an Application Audio Output Capture source.

If you dont need to fine-tune all the audio feeds of your programs in use, you can add multiple applications into one Capture source (eg Game, Web Browser, Discord etc) and keep the SPotify source separate for easier management.

If you have a more advanced audio setup (ie using Elgato Wave Link, multiple input and output devices etc) let us know and these steps can be better tailored to your experience.
