Question / Help Select One Thing On The Screen!

Ok, so OBS works fantastically, but their's one thing I can't figure out! I'm not sure if what I'm trying to find is even out yet, but if it is, please tell me and if not, please tell me when it might be added!

Basically, I need to select one half of my screen to record while the other half I use for other stuff, basically select an area! When I stream, I need my comments on one half and my game on the other, but I don't know how to do this without having both being recorded at the same time! Help please!

I was hoping to do this very same thing. Is selecting just a region of the screen for a scene possible with the Mac version at this point? I just downloaded the software for the first time and have the latest version. Thanks!

Not click+drag selection, but you can create a Display Capture and you can now crop it.

Thank you! I tried this, the video I get for the output is the section of screen I want to capture -- along with black screen the size of my entire screen. Is there any way to have it record jut the section I want to capture? Right now it's a small portion of the screen surrounded by a huge amount of black screen for my final video.

After cropping you would need to fit the newly sized source to your scene's dimensions. Select the source and press Ctrl+F.

Thanks Sapiens. That seemed to set the width dimensions to my selection, but there's still extra (double) vertical space. Is there a set aspect ratio or something? I have an odd-shaped selection size (half the height of my screen but 3/4 the width about).

I think I have it. I needed to also change the base resolution under settings/video, then hit cmd+f on the source. Thanks!
