Question / Help Screen resetting. Can't even touch the OBS Window

Hello. So I've been trying to start streaming for a bit lately, and the first time I used OBS it worked perfectly fine. I went through some tutorials for the best settings to run OBS, and everything was tip-top.
However, when I started OBS yesterday, my computer just slows down. As soon as I select the OBS window, the fps drops and there is a drastic change in the CPU usage.

I have a solid rig:
GK MSI PCIe GTX 1080 GAMING X 8G
CPU Intel Core i7 7700K 4.2 GHz
SSD 250GB Samsung 960 EVO
Corsair 16GB(2-kit) DDR4 2400Mhz

I have a 27" IPS panel running at 144hz with gsync enabled.

So I don't really get why this is happening to me. And also, I can't touch the settings of OBS at the moment, since the screen just resets (the screen gets black, and go back to the same desktop view) every time I even touch the OBS window.

Are there any settings to my graphic card that I need to adjust?
Does it have anything to do with the resolution of my screen?

I have tried switching between different capture settings, and not having anything in my scenes, but it is still lagging.
I tried to gets some logs down, but I don't know if they are accurate enough since I even had troubles with shutting down the recording / shutting down the app itself.

I want to thank you in advance. I really need it.
