Question / Help Screen capture issue

Hi guys,

I don't consider myself a novice when it comes to computers, but im having a real issue with OBS so would appreciate some help please!

I'm trying to screen record off my Surface Pro with my webcam in the corner. Because the aspect ratio of the surface isn't the same as most laptops, when I record it has big black bars at the side of the video when I upload to YouTube. So what I've done is changed the screen resolution of the laptop to what YouTube says it should be for 1080p, which is fine. However, now in OBS when I change the resolution to 1080, the screen preview is huge and doesn't on the screen, even when I press fit to screen or stretch to screen.

However, when I record and preview my video, it displays perfectly. This wouldn't be an issue if I didn't have the webcam of me in the corner. Because the screen preview is so big and goes off the screen, it's impossible for me to move the webcam segment to the bottom right hand corner, even if I select "bottom right" in edit transform.. it just puts it in the middle and other random places when I select it.

Does anybody know why I face this issue? Banging my head against a wall here as I've tried to sort it for over an over and no matter what I do, the screen preview is way bigger than the OBS window meaning I can't preview it how it records, and can't move the webcam to the bottom right hand corner of the recording as it is off screen!

TL:DR the resolution of the preview window in OBS is smaller than the actual preview, meaning I can't move the webcam screen to the corner, even when using stretch to screen and transform position etc

Thanks in advance.
