Hoping someone affiliated with OBS and it's development can answer a burning question posed from a thread made on the Twitch subreddit. I created a tutorial on why/how to use scenes within scenes as sources, and the top question I received was asking if this would cause extra strain in OBS on the CPU?
For clarification, let's say I have a logo that I want to use on multiple scenes within my broadcast, but I want to have it scaled, add color filters, or customize it in several ways. I create a scene with the logo and then import that scene into my broadcast scenes as a source - and apply those various filters in each individual scene.
Without using this method, I could also just keep adding the image over and again in all the scenes and apply the filters.
Is there any impact on resource usage between the two methods in the way OBS handles this? I've been asked to create another video explaining in more detail how to go about setting up scenes within scenes but I'd like to have a definitive answer from OBS to set that record straight. The original post has been viewed about 2000 times in less than 24 hours, so there is a lot of interest in the feature and I feel it worth your time to clarify if you would be so kind.
