Ok so I capture from my consoles at 1080p.
My desktop is 1440p.
Something I had always noticed was that my recordings were always sharper than the preview window, it is as if the preview window is doing some post processing that the recording isnt, or the other way round.
Well I have kind of solved it but would like to understand why this works.
If I add a video filter to the capture device, I add a scaling filter, and match the settings in the main settings, which in my case is 1080p with bicubic (the source is 1080p so I assume this actually disables scaling), then select full screen projector (source), it has the same sharpness and quality as my recordings, but if I keep it windowed or select full screen projector (preview), it isnt as sharp and is lower quality.
Any idea why, as whilst its good to fix things, I like to have an understanding as to why.
Adding this filter doesnt seem to affect the recordings so they not worse/better than before it seems to just affect full screen source preview.
