Saving Long Recordings in a Relatively Short Time?

If I am creating a 12 hours recording with media exclusively, can I have it saved without the need to wait all that time before finding it in my recordings folder?

When I start recording, I typically see a zero-length file created. So you can "find" the file in your recordings folder immediately, but you won't be able to peek at it.

With a 12-hour file, it may be that you will see the partial file as larger than 0 bytes after a while, but I would still guess you won't be able to view any of it.
