Hi. I stream on twitch a bit and I've been having a ton of issues with frame lag and skipped/dropped frames... but not through encoding or rendering, from what I can tell. I got a cheap gaming desktop to stream from in May of 2020. In august of 2020 I bought an Elgato HD60S that I stream a Nintendo Switch through. Ever since I got the elgato, while I'm playing the games, I get a lot of visible lagging and some skipped frames, I've tried changing a lot of different settings, tried different hdmi cables in case one was bad, but nothing seems to help. I emailed Elgato support, and the guy said that it was because of the game I'm playing, that it's known to have lag issues. But the issues are getting worse, and they happen on any game I play through the elgato, whether it's live or off stream. You can visibly see the issue on my stream. I don't get this lag or dropping issue when my Switch is hooked up to a TV or if I play it handheld. I bought a new computer a couple of weeks ago that has a better CPU and GPU, but the elgato is not working any better. I think it's actually getting worse. When OBS is open off stream, it says the CPU hovers between 1-2%. During streaming *i believe* it hovers between 6-8%. That's what I've noticed, anyway. I don't know whether to think I have some setting that is causing the issues or if I just got a bad capture card. I'm attaching the link to a log where I did a bandwidth test. This was only for a few minutes, but there was still visible lag during it. If anyone has any ideas on settings to change or maybe if the elgato isn't compatible with the equipment, I would appreciate feedback. If it isn't compatible, is there another brand of capture card that would work better? I know there are some things it says isn't installed but I wasn't sure what of those items is necessary and I didn't want to go installing a bunch of stuff if it ends up being unnecessary.
I have an AMD Ryzen 7 3700x Processor and an AMD Radeon RX 5700 graphics card.
If you'd rather have a link to a log from after a stream, let me know. I should be able to get one fairly quickly.
