Running OBS AND Dolphin

I've been using my mac to record my lets plays, I usually emulate NES or SNES games on OpenEmu fine, but trying to play GameCube games on Dolphin is proving tricky, lagging or audio glitching or everything slowing down...
Can someone tell me if my CPU or what exactly is too low, and how I can change that. Is it easy enough to buy the part to use on my macbook? Or would getting a new computer be better?
Appreciate the help!!

I understand Dolphin is rather demanding. It runs two cores for the emulation and makes use of a third and forth for other tasks.

Can you provide a screenshot of Activity Monitor? I‘d like to see which apps use up your MBPs CPU and RAM.

What setting do you run Dolphin with, the resolution being the most important one?
Can you also show us the OBS settings under »Video«?

24bit might be a bit too much?

But I am guessing here. There is nothing obviously wrong with all that. You should find someone with more knowledge of Dolphin.

BTW, what input device do you use for playing?
