OBS and other software show no frames dropped when streaming. But the viewer watching the live stream cant get a good experience. Issue is not bitrate cause the problem appears at low < 2500 or > 6000. A+ bufferbloat rating on router, ubiquity edge with FiOS service. No encoding rendering lag or encoding lag on a wired connection. Using 2700x with a RTX 2070 on a crosshair motherboard. Can repeat with a lower spec system 2600x with GTX 1050 TI on B350 mobo. With this setup 8 core I can do x264 on medium no sweat. But for testing the minimum is 2500kpbs @ veryfast. Still the problem appears with live stream watching.
Using Mixer RTMP for upstream and viewing using various endpoints like cell phone, tablets, or laptops. What ever the viewer is using, the experience is that most of the stream is unwatchable. The video drops for seconds at a time or doesn't come back at all.
Using Mixer FTL doesn't have the issue. Consistent 30fps or 60fps when watching the FTL stream, but the reliability RTMP stream that the ingest server generates also has the dropping out video. When using the FTL service the viewer can choose FTL (Low Latency) or RTMP for a more reliable stream. Not my case, in my case the RTMP is a mess when watching live.
Using RTMP or FTL the upstream gets recorded in its entirety from the Mixer service past stream playback. So the whole RTMP stream is getting ingested but the playback is unwatchable Live.
Odd thing is that when using a limited Elgato GameCapture HD software the RTMP is solid when Live watching. I found this out was on a whim, I almost gave up on RTMP entirely. So I tried other streaming software like SLOBS which is just a OBS clone. Same thing the RTMP with SLOBs, not watchable LIVE.
Using Xsplit the RTMP Live is watchable 0_0
So great news found a workaround but I would rather stick with OBS. Is there some secret sauce xsplit is using to help a live stream be watchable? Seems like its just a settings issue in OBS just I been pulling my hair to find out what it is. HELP.
