Question / Help Rookie question

I am not 100% sure where to post this question so please move this is there a more appropriate place for this question.

I am looking for a solution that will allow me to use two action cameras (GoPro Hero 3 and Hero +) to capture (and hopefully) stream video in side my race car. I am open to using what ever hardware (pc, Laptop, Arduino) needed to accomplish this but size and weight matter so the smaller the better. I am assuming I will connect them via HDMI to what ever I use.

I can get around in Linux if thats the easiest (and most cost effective) way to accomplish my goals.

Thanks in advance for your consideration and help.

Do you have some sort of connection to the internet from your car? WiFi at the track? Obviously the ability to stream would be dependent on that. If you are just looking to put the two video feeds together, that might be a lot easier to do in post processing since your Go Pro is already recording. You could use OBS to fuse the two recordings together (or use any number of other video manipulation software).

Otherwise, any sort of laptop that meets the minimum requirements with the Go Pros connected by USB and then stream it out with some sort of Internet connection. The connection would be key.

the plan was to use my phone as a hotspot.

I would like to capture to the computer / Server on a Raid of SSD's I have a ton of 256Gb SSD's left from another project. This allows me to not have to change SD cards or worry about them filling up. Also I don't have to transfer to edit. I can just move the Storage device over to my office and edit from there.

The hope is to stream so that people in the Pits as well as family who didn't make it to the track can watch.

If I am making this more difficult that I need to let me know.

I would just run two USB cables from your GoPro to a laptop then tether your phone and see how it looks. Should be fairly simple to set up and test. Would definitely work to save the video to the laptop..

Hello all,
Did any of you solve the issue? Is the video capture card necessary? I want to do a livestream through obs with 2 cameras, the first one (not a gopro) I can just plug it in with a USB cable, but for the second one (GoPro hero 3+) I'm reading that it might not be that simple.
Please advise!!
