Bug Report Robotic sound because of virtual surround processing

Hi!

If I do a recording with my headset and DTS Virtual Surround enabled in the LGS software, my recordings gets a weird robotic sound effect to it. If I turn off the virtual surround, the issue is gone and the recorded audio is perfectly fine. This was not an issue in OBS Classic.

I assume OBS Studio records the audio post-processing instead of pre-processing.
It's not an option to permanently turn off this feature whenever I want to record, and this is also the only audio source I have available.

Suggestions?

I'll attach a logfile just in case it would be of any relevance.

The virtual surround might change the bitrate that the audio is being played at. Check and verify that the bitrates match what is in OBS. Default in OBS is 44.1khz (checked in Settings -> Audio). Can try changing that to 48khz and see if that helps.

I have been trying to mix between 48k Hz and 44,1k Hz in both windows audio settings and OBS, no difference, with all 4 different possible solutions.

Can you provide a sample of the bad audio? Also, when did you last verify that it worked properly in Classic? Just want to make sure that's not a placebo here and there's some newer drivers at play that don't work in either location, but it's been a while since it was last tested.

If you record with audio improvementes, anybody will hear your video as you hear it when recording.
BUT, if you hear your own video, you are re-enhancing audio again. This produces echoes, reverberances and strange sound effects.

Try watching one of your videos without Virtual Sorround Enabled. You will hear the sound you recorded.

After some serious testing, I've been able to narrow this down.
The fault seems to lie with DTS Surround.

Previously when I recorded with Classic, I used Dolby Digital Surround, but have since back when I recorded with sound, changed to DTS Surround in the Logitech Software with the release of G933. As of why I did not have issues with Classic.

When I record with Dolby Digital Surround, the problem is nonexistent, in OBS Studio.

What EBrito mentioned is not correct in this case, and the "robotic" effect is present even if I temporarily turn off surround when listening to the recorded clip.
I'm going to assume as of this, that this issue cannot be resolved by you? And if needs be, I guess I have to get used to the dull Dolby Digital Surround whilst recording.
Hope I'm wrong!

If you're still interested in the audio samples, I'll post them here first thing in the morning (8-10 hours from now).
