Roblox Recording Stuttering/Lagging – Need Help With OBS Settings

Hi everyone,

I’m having a problem while recording Roblox gameplay with OBS Studio.

My PC:

• Intel Core i5-14600K
• 16GB DDR4 RAM
• MSI B760M-A WIFI DDR4
• Samsung 990 Pro 1TB NVMe
• No dedicated GPU
• Intel Quick Sync H.264 available

I mainly record Roblox 99 Nights in the Forest.

When I record, the gameplay becomes very laggy/stuttery, even though the game itself runs smoothly when I’m not recording. I also tried lowering Roblox graphics, which makes the game smoother but the recording quality becomes poor.

I want:

• Smooth 1080p recording
• Good/high-quality video
• Minimal FPS drop or stuttering
• Best settings for Intel Quick Sync H.264
• Settings suitable for Roblox gameplay

Can someone please recommend the best OBS settings for my PC, especially Encoder, Rate Control, Bitrate, Keyframe Interval, Preset, Profile, and Video FPS?

Cap your game at 30 FPS and set your Video Common FPS Value to 30.
Tools > Auto-Configuration Wizard > * Optimize just for recording [Next]. Once it's done, close and restart OBS. If still having issues then

OBS Studio creates a log file each time you run it which contains very useful diagnostic information. Without a log file, it's much harder for any support volunteers to figure out problems and your post may be ignored.

To upload a log file, go to the Help menu > Log Files > Upload Last Log File. "Last Log File" is for the last session (the last time you ran OBS). In some cases you may be asked to select "Current Log File" instead, which is for the current session.
