Retro game transparency effects capture?

Retro games rapidly flicker on screen elements in order to create transparency effects. These effects only work when perfectly aligned with the monitor's refresh rate. Capturing at 60 fps these effects do not display correctly due to slight misalignment between the game's refresh rate and the capture rate. However, the effects could display adequately well if we could capture at a higher frame rate and then blend the frames together. I've tried it, it works well, but OBS doesn't seem to support such a feature. It would also make it possible to broadcast such games at 30 FPS while maintaining transparency effects. Otherwise transparent elements tend to disappear and reappear at random.
