I used obs for some time now and I really enjoyed it for my gameplay recordings. But an issue arised after getting myself into a new ReShade related content creation.
I'm using ReShade with every game, and it's important for me as I create shader presets and want to show them to people. ReShade is similar to Nvidia Freestyle, if someone is not familiar with it. Default game capture and window capture work well, except for nor capturing ReShade effects at all - It records the game, but ReShade is skipped altogether.
I managed to capture the game with ReShade effects only when using only the 'desktop mode' recording. Which is not ideal for recording games. In my tests it definitely looks worse, a bit mode blurred (comparing to game capture), which is obvious knowing their different use cases.
I record in a close to lossless compression (CQP 14), so this is a huge issue for me. I want to keep my recoesings as high quality as possible.
I would be glad if someone could either.
- Offer me ideas how to combat this issue (if they managed to get ReShade to work with the game capture mode)
Or
- Suggest alternatives to OBS. Could be free or relatively cheap paid. I only care about software which allows recording in a good looking close to losses quality. Comparable to obs (could be worse but close).
