REQUEST/SUGGESTION

I've got a couple of suggestions and requests here. I don't do a lot of coding, so I'm not sure how easy it would be to implement these kinds of functions in the software, but I have used professional video switching hardware and software, so my ideas aren't entirely new, but I think they would be useful here and help the community. I may try to add to this thread as time goes on or make new threads, but here are a few on my mind at the moment:

Video Loop - Set Looping Point
So, I think it's great to have the ability to loop a video. What would be even more amazing would be the ability to set a looping frame/point on a video, so it doesn't loop from the very beginning but from a point afterwards.

A useful scenario for this function would be to have a video that is 480 frames in duration (16 seconds long) that is a QuickTime Animation file with an alpha channel. In the first 30 frames, the video would animate in in some fashion and the next 450 would be the looping portion of it. Then, you would load the video into OBS and set it to 'loop' in the settings and then also have the option to set the 'loop point' at 30 frames, so once the media hits the end, instead of looping it all the way from the beginning, it would start the loop at frame 30. In OBS, you would just cut to that scene and it would double as a transition and a slide.

Input Source Animations

Ok, so this one may be difficult, but here's the idea: Upon transitioning from one scene to another, if you've set an input source to animate in or out, it would do so either before or after the transition. You can make it so that it slides in from the top, bottom, left or right, and maybe even scale up or down, and then possibly allow it to animate at different speeds and different distances, depending on the dimensions of the input source. I'm not sure how this could be set up, but it may be useful.

XY Positioning and Aligning Tools
Pardon me if this has been suggested before, but I am new to the forums and have not seen a plugin for this. I'm a bit of an OCD freak when it comes to the layout of my graphics and overlays if I need them in a scene. If the canvas of a scene had X and Y coordinates, one could position the elements specifically where they want them, as well as align them easily if needed, much like in Photoshop or any other graphic editing system.

Thank you for your time. I have a lot of ideas, but I will refrain from throwing them out there until I feel the need for them or see if someone wants to contribute. I wish I could code programs, but unfortunately, I don't have the time to focus on learning it at the moment.

Take a look at the edit transform window on the sources.

Ah geeze, see I've only been using OBS consistently for a couple of months now and didn't see that option. I was really hoping for a separate window within the application window to use to edit it live rather than right-click > Edit Transformation, but this would work for now. Thanks!

Edit Transform is a separate window, more or less. You can keep it open and the changes apply as you make them, live. You can even select different items, and the properties in the Edit Transform window will update to reflect the newly highlighted item. No need to close it in between editing items, or ever.
