Recycled HardWare - Bi-Xeon... any interest ?

Hi everyone,

I'm about to be given a bi-xeon (don't know the processors version though), probably with a quadro 4000 and 32 GB Ram. Is there an proven interest having a Bi proc computer for Running OBS (will the 2 Proc be really used ?). If yes, would it be more efficient running Linux or Windows ? So far, i'm running a i5/48GB/Gtx1050 win10 computer for my 3cam lives, and have another install (on the same Computer) running linux mint and seems to be OK too.

I don't know if OBS will be more efficient with a multi-proc computer.

Any comment is welcome :)

Depends. I know a few people that run dual xeon rigs with no issues but they are newer rigs with current hardware.

Find out how old it is. The original quadro 4000 is from like 2010. Don't think it's even supported anymore, see link. If the system is that old & has been on 24/7 like I run my server equipment, it is has something like 130,000 hours on it. Might not be too much tread left...
