Question / Help Recordings are too bright/have washed out colours

Hello, I have this problem where my recordings are too bright and the colours look washed out. I tried playing around with the settings, but I couldn't find what casues it. Eventually I just set the preset to "lossless" but it was still the same. This happens with all my recordings, whether they come from game capture or display capture. The thing is, I don't have this problem with other recording software (such as FRAPS). So I'm wondering, which settings should I change to fix this?

Screenshot from from the FRAPS recording isn't quite prefect either, but it looks quite a lot better than the OBS one. Both recording screenshots are from the same video player with same settings.

As it turns out, it was just my video player's fault, hopefully this helps anyone with a similiar problem.

I know it's a very old post but the first result from Google was this, i increased VLC brightness because one of my videos was too dim and then forgot about it.
