Question / Help Recording with 320 audio bitrate

Hey,

1. How to record videos with audio in 320kbps without using FFmpeg? Im using 25000 bitrate and ultrafast preset (i5 4590) and it's fine, but how can i force 320kbps audio?

2. I already run a few tests, but it this even possible to record high quality videos with 25-50k bitrate on i5 without using NVENC preset?

Thank you very much,
Dymk

1. There is a setting that says audio bitrate change that to 320. In advanced output it has its own tab and you can change what bitrate each of the tracks records at.

2. if you use x264 you can't get a very high bitrate without using CRF, Just use NVENC it is far superior. If you don't have a card that supports NVENC then you can also try using QuickSync. If you want a high bitrate you can use x264 and use CRF. Or use NVENC and use CQP.

1. im checking it atm
2. im forced to use 264, theres no other way and dont ask why, i really have to. Im supposed to record FULL HD games with 25fps, 50k bitrate and 320kbit audio using 264 (mpeg and aac).

you wont be able to get to 50000 using x264 CBR or VBR even on ultrafast (regarless of processor). You either hvae to use QuickSync, NVENC, or CRF.

Why on earth would you be required to use one H264 encoder over another?

Its for someone who needs to encode this recording for TV usage and he said that it needs to be x264 with highest bitrate possible (25-50k). I asked him about NVENC but he needs to confirm that its ok, he doesnt exactly knows yet if NVENC is allowed... Is NVENC similiar to x264 when using high bitrate? Will be there problems with encoding for TV usage?

Whaqt are you talking about? Sure you can set x264 at 50000 kbps bitrate.

They all should be fine. They should all output the same just encode it differently. If you are just looking for highest bitrate possible CRF or NVENC is the way to go.

*facepalm* yeah i totally knew that, brain fart. I'm pretty sure I meant that CRF has better performance at high resolutions.

I can record CRF at 1080p60 but not CBR at 1080p60. Unless I'm messing up again which is very possible.
