Recording Windows PC on MAC no audio

Hi all, I am using OBS on my Mac to record my Windows PC. So my Windows is connected to the HDMI in of my capture card, HDMI out to the monitor and USB into my Mac running OBS. Works great to capture video, but I can't seem to figure out how to capture the sound from my Windows PC. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Some capture cards actually appear as two devices. One for a silent picture and the other as a normal USB sound card for blind sound. Does an Audio Input Source or a Global Mic source see it?

In the input audio settings of my Mac I only see USB Digital Audio. In OBS I've tried to add a source and selecting USB Digital Audio but it doesn't work. The sound just plays out of to monitor attached to the HDMI out on my capture card.

Is it still there when you unplug the capture card? If so, then that's not it. If it goes away, then that *is* it, and you might have a permissions problem.

Apple is big on security, which has a side-effect of not being able to "just do stuff". You need to give it permission first.

So we know that the capture card itself at least has a good signal. No need to troubleshoot upstream from that, because it works up to there.

Install VB Cable to capture the USB audio sound to your Mac, and configure OBS to use VB cable as the audio input source. Also select VB cable as the sound input source on the Mac too.
