Recording size issue.

For some reason, Obs will only record in widescreen. Changing settings does not affect this. It's messing up my video quality while I edit because it's in widescreen when I don't want it or need it in widescreen. I did the thing where you get rid of the profile stuff, that did nothing. I've deleted it then reinstalled it along with making sure I've also gotten rid of profile settings. Does anyone have any idea how I fix this?

In Settings->Video, Base Canvas Resolution, type in your desired resolution. You don't need to select from the dropdown, those values are just for convenience. Your aspect ratio is predicated by what resolution you are recording at.
For existing recordings, your editing program should be able to crop the frame to remove any columnboxing present from recording at the wrong AR on-import, or force-rescale it if you (for some reason) stretched the content in OBS to fill the widescreen format.
