Recording separate audio tracks trouble

I'm trying to record my voice and desktop audio on separate tracks. I've done all the set up for it i.e. gone into my setting placing output mode on advanced and gone into the recording tab and enabled 2 channels to record, and set recording format to mp4 as an older tutorial told me to do so. When they are on the same track the desktop audio will come through. But if they are on separate tracks only the desktop audio will not record. My mic audio will record no matter what channel its on. I should also note that the dB bars move on both tracks all the time when I'm recording but the desktop audio still doesn't come through when I go back to watch my test run videos when they are on separate tracks.

Multi audio only mkv, mp4 only save stereo.

I found that it would only record Track 1 when using Standard mode. I changed to Type: Custom Output and then enabled all the tracks I wanted and it seems to be working now. I think maybe it's a bug? This was OBS 26, and with mkv file type.
