Question / Help Recording Sega Genesis Gameplay

I bought a USB capture card from Amazon last week (it's a knock-off EZcap card) with the intent to record gameplay from my Sega Genesis. I decided to use OBS to record instead of the pack-in software to record. When I try to record from my Genesis, all I get is audio and no video.

I have tried to connect the Genesis in the following ways with no success:
1) Genesis connected to A/V switch, A/V Switch connected to the capture card.
2) Genesis connected to A/V switch, A/V Switch connected to VCR, VCR connected to card.
3) Genesis directly connected to capture card

The capture card does seem to play other systems okay (PS2, N64, and even the VHS player), so I'm thinking it's a Genesis thing. My guess is that it has something to do with the resolution of the Genesis.

Is there a setting in OBS that can fix this issue? Or is the problem with my capture card?

Does the card come with software to use with it? If so, try it there and see if it works. If it doesn't, there's not much you can do in OBS.

In OBS, you can try clicking on Configure Video in the video capture device properties to set the capture card settings (if there even are any).

Lastly, you can purchase a capture card that isn't a waste of the plastic it's made out of.
