Question / Help Recording Options Greyed out

I am trying to change were the path of my recordings go as well as want to change them to mp4 instead of FLV to use this in sony vegas but they are greyed out does anyone know why or how to fix it.

You don't actually want to save directly to mp4, as vegas is incompatible with mp4s created in this manner, in addition to all the stability problems that come from saving directly to mp4.

Use file - remux recordings after finishing your recording to create your mp4s for vegas.

The settings are locked as long as you have any output active. This includes streaming, recording and any active NDI output.

nothing is active its like this all the time even when i first open obs up for the day

If you've enabled the NDI output or virtual webcam output, they will re-enable when you relaunch unless you disable them before closing.

And again, you don't want to save directly to mp4, as vegas is incompatible with mp4 files made in that manner.

I just deleted all of my outputs and the output recording destination area is still grey'd out.

@banansmacked try to add the the .lua script from the:

Video output currently active

click the "Log Output Status Now" button in the properties of the script (OBS main menu Tools>Scripts) and look at the log-file of OBS - active output will be listed there as [ACTIVE]
