Hi,
is there a way to record 2 full 1080p streams from two capture cards at the same time?
Thanks!

Yes.

Use cards that support it
And add them as separate video capture device sources.

both need to be added to the same scene.

If you want separate files, that's a LOT more complicated.

What I am looking for are two full 1080p separate files at he same time.
Is there a way to do that even though it's more complicated?
Thanks.

What capture cards are you using? If you're wanting separate files for each video, I assume you would have to record on 2 obs studios simultaneously. I could be wrong.

I have 2 Elgato HD60 Pro cards.
When I start the second OBS then there is no input coming from the capture cards. The screen is blank in the second OBS.

I can get both cards into one 1080p but that's not good.
I need full 1080p from both cards.

Driver from Elgato can work with 2 cards at the same time?
I do not think so.
The same problem have avermedia, driver supports only one device in time.

Only the internal pci-e card can, and only with special drivers.

Generally, if you want to multi-card in the same computer, other brands are going to be far less of a headache, especially if you get something like BlackMagic's decklink duo or duo2 card.

As I mentioned, I got them working but they can create only one 1080 output at the moment.
Harold, you mentioned something might work but it would be a LOT more complicated. What did you have in mind?
Thanks.

Never mind, I got it working. The idea of opening 2 OBS instances works.
It's very easy:
- open the first OBS
- setup the a scene with the first capture card as the source
- open the second OBS, the first settings will appear (the scene and the source) in the second OBS
- delete the first source from the scene and add the second capture card as the source
- the first OBS records from the first capture card and the second OBS records from the second capture card

What confused me in the beginning was the second OBS showed the settings but there was no input coming/displayed from any capture card.
The deleting and adding the source triggers the OBS to connect to the capture card.
A small disadvantage that the source has to be deleted each time to start but at least it works.

Thanks everybody for reading...
