I'm using voicemeeter banana in order to separate my discord audio and game audio, but when i play back the recordings only my audio is picked up. In the OBS window both my discord track and desktop track are picking up audio, its just not being played back in the recording.

Are you by chance using multitrack audio? If so, each track needs to be selected separately when playing back in a player like VLC.
If not, post your log file please.

Please verify that the audio tracks show in VLC. The default windows player will have issues with multiple tracks. Sony Vegas is also known to have issues with multiple tracks.
Use VLC to verify that the file that you have actually does in fact have multiple tracks, that way you can narrow down where the issue actually is -- whether it's OBS, or the programs reading a file that actually is fine.
