Question / Help Recording Limit??

I was trying to record some art I was going to edit into a speedpaint but once I stopped recording and went to edit it, I found that only 4 minutes and 43 seconds were recorded! This art took way more than 4 minutes to do. What may be the problem? What should I do?
EDIT: I did a test to see if I had just been recording for too long and did some doodles for about two minutes. When I checked what was recorded, there was less than a minute of media.

You might want to keep in mind how much free harddrive space you have, when you start recording. Recordings can easily take up a gigabyte or two, depending on length and content.
