Hi,
I am using the DELL 7490 laptop together with a 4K display, using only the built-in Intel UHD620 GPU.
I use with the 4K display at home via USB C (this time the laptop display is usually disabled), and using the laptop display while traveling, obviously.
In OBS 23.2.1 in the Sources I set the Display Capture > 1920x1080 (the laptop display) and saves this as a source called "Laptop only".
Today - while being connected to the 4K display as well - I recorded a Skype screenshare conference session done on the laptop display (now I swithced the laptop dispaly on using the Intel UHD Graphics Control Panel, because 4K can not be broadcasted to the other parties in a visible way, everything is way too small).
When finished the recording, I saw that it recorded the upper left part of the 4K screen, but not the laptop screen, despite the "Laptop only" setting was set to the laptop display recording. And yes, when I opened the settings, the wrong display was selected, the 4K.
Maybe connecting / disconnecting 4K display + enabling / disabling laptop display while connected to 4K (sometimes the Display 01 and Display 02 are different!) will mess up the OBS settings? (the lock icon is also enabled)
As OBS does not seem to save the settings in a final way, should I really check it every time before recording and not trusting the settings anymore?
I know, this is a complex edge case, but could this OBS source saving method be improved?
thanks,
Baci
