Recording laggy

I'm attempting to record my screen and the result is laggy... not showing me second by second. At times, although the time ticks by, there can be 30-40 seconds between changing of frames. In the linked video example, pay attention to the clock... It should be ticking second by second.

Any suggestions?

Windows 10 Pro
i7-8700
64 GB RAM
NVMe SSD
Radeon RX550 discreet GPU

Seems I have fixed the issue by simply lowering resolution.
