Question / Help Recording is lagging badly

So I've used regular OBS before, but couldn't get it to work, as the video would be frozen 97% of the time. I tried moving to Studio today, and the video doesn't freeze--but it still lags tremendously. I've tried putting all of the settings super low as I don't have a gaming computer, just a regular laptop, but I don't know if I'm helping or hurting things, and the recording is still super laggy. Can anyone help me find the right settings so I don't have lag? Thanks :)

Your system is too underpowered to properly live-encode video. You could try setting your Recording Quality to "Indistinguishable" and the Encoder to "Software (x264 low CPU usage preset, increases file size)", but I don't think either will help you enough.

Change the Preset to ultrafast and see if that helps a bit but overall your CPU is really not up to the task.

The logs showing "Number of skipped frames due to encoding lag: 3845714500 (210.2%)" even with Ultra its going to need some miracle to be able to encode with that lag at veryfast. I was going to say drop the res but your already pretty low.

You could drop in a new GPU and run Nvnec which would remove the load from the CPU but checking the log it looks like your on a laptop so this wont be possible.
