Recording graphically-intensive games gives choppy footage in OBS, but not in Shadowplay

Hi there! I recently decided to switch over to OBS from Shadowplay after I got tired of having to re-encode my recordings with Handbrake after the majority of my recording sessions (and after Shadowplay completely failed to record one session).

However, when recording graphically-intensive games, the recorded footage comes out very choppy in sections, although the game doesn't lag at all. OBS records simpler games (like Vampire Survivors) totally fine, but when recording Elden Ring and even Dark Souls 2, the footage gets very choppy. Shadowplay was able to record Elden Ring totally fine (apart from needing to run it through Handbrake afterwards). Interestingly, I was able to record 30 minutes of Forspoken with no choppiness, but saw it again in an Elden Ring recording I did yesterday.

I've uploaded my log file here which I think has all the information needed, but please let me know if I can provide any more details: https://obsproject.com/logs/PBcGTT5t6MlAr58Y

I've also uploaded screenshots of the footage properties. Here is the OBS footage properties, and here is the Shadowplay footage.

Is there anyway I can adjust my OBS settings to have it record these taxing games without choppiness? I like that OBS seems to be more reliable with recordings and records at a constant frame rate, which is why I switched from Shadowplay. Is my best bet to just give up on OBS and go back to Shadowplay?

Thanks!

What happens if you use game capture instead of display capture for the recordings?
Interesting, I just recorded 12 minutes of Elden Ring using game capture and didn't have any choppiness! I think the real test will be recording for 2+ hours next time I do a session, but game capture seems to be pretty positive so far! Thank you very much for the suggestion!
