Recording game capture works when I load OBS 1st then a game; black screen on OBS if reversed

I have no issue recording videos of game if I first load OBS, then load up a game. But if I load up a game first, then OBS, I get a black screen on OBS. When I record the game in this manner and playback the video, its just a black video with no sound.

The log shows no attempt to game capture any game

Also, run obs as administrator.

thanks. i figured it out; something very minor. i play Dead by Daylight and when I'm in a match, then turn on OBS, it just shows a black screen. i just hit esc in game to open the options windows and exit out of it, and OBS captures it fine. I guess in a way doing that refreshes it on OBS or something.

You can easily run OBS as administrator by right-clicking the desktop shortcut > properties > advanced > run as administrator
Close and reopen OBS, if you have UAC on - it should prompt you to allow to run as administrator.
