Question / Help Recording Game Audio through my Capture Card

How can I also record the game audio through my capture?

Do I need to connect a mic in wire from my tv to a mic in wire to my capture card? Does it go in the headphone jack or does it go in the microphone jack? I'm inclined to believe the headphone jack as otherwise I wouldn't be able to capture game audio and my voice.

Do I need to add sound on OBS much in the way I had to add video for my capture card on OBS?

Right click your video source in your scene. Choose properties from the dropdown. There should be an option there for audio.

If not you may be able to add it separately to your scene as an audio input source.

Okay, yes I was able to do that. I'm still really figuring all this stuff out so while it may be "uh, duh" to some people the sound no longer comes through my computer when my capture card is plugged in. So all this time I was testing and trying to get audio I had the capture card plugged in which was preventing it from playing from my computer

Okay, now the new problem is how can I adjust the volume of the recorded audio? It's suitably loud enough when coming through my television, but when I play it back on my computer I have to max my audio out...

Did the VU meters in OBS indicate the volume was low when you recorded? If so, and the gain does not go any higher, you can add a Filter to that source called Gain that will allow you to increase the volume.

(You can also add one called Limiter that will prevent the volume going to high, which is a good idea)

Appreciate the advice/support!
