I use OBS Studio for recording videos since it was highly recommended and easy to use.
It recorded perfect with no issues yesterday but today i seem to be having issues where it records for a few seconds then freezes.
OBS itself doesn't freeze, but the game/window capture freezes and when i press stop recording, it goes on a never ending loop and says "stopping recording".

Please let me know if I'm using wrong settings or if something is conflicting with OBS.

These look like typical signs of issues stemming from the Windows 10 Anniversary Update. Please update to OBS Studio 0.16.2 (it has improvements to its logging), and read over this thread.

As an aside, if you're trying to record using an AMD hardware encoder, 0.16.2 also includes new features to support that as well.
