Question / Help Recording drop-down list activity

I created documents in Word and Libre Office Writer. I can record everything except when I click the drop-down lists I created, all I see in the OBS screen (and the resultant video) is the final selection. I need to show all the items in the drop-down list. Is there a way I can do that?

I just tested real software--Audacity--to see if OBS would record drop-down choices, and it doesn't work on that either.

Unfortunately, OBS isn't capturing secondary windows with Window capture if Aero is enabled (which is always enabled and cannot be disabled with Windows 8 and 10). Dropdown-lists, as well as most kind of menus, are their own windows that are not captured. You always see only the plain application surface. You have to resort to display capture and crop the surroundings.
