Question / Help Recording Color looks different from my screen/preview

When I record, the video file looks different from what I see in my screen or in the preview.

Try setting YUV Color Range to Partial.
Someone with more knowledge on color formats and their implementation in OBS may be able to assist if you were to upload a logfile containing a recording attempt as well.

Changed both YUV Color Space to 601 and Color Range to Partial. Not sure why in my recording settings i had those options while streaming I had 601 and partial. Thank you

OBS Studio: Color Space, Color Format, Color Range settings Guide. Test charts. - playback test videos in your player and see if they has right colors for you (it should).

Also, because you recording directly into mp4, look at this thread too: Stopping recording never ends (even in case of single audio track recording).

Also remember you can add a filter to your video source to shift hue to do some minor color correction.

This thread just set me on the right track to solve my reddish-looking recordings issue. In "Advanced Settings" I had the Color Space set to 709 rather than to 601 for some unexplainable reason. (I probably set it a while ago to "see what happened" and then didn't associate that move with the torrid-looking results I was getting.) Partial was already set for Color Range.

I see sRGB is a choice, which is an international standard. I wonder if that is a good choice? And why IS the 709 color space so red-shifted???

Anyway, thanks, Jrblack09 for making me look at that setting!
