Question / Help Recording buffers.

When I stream or record, the output buffers like crazy. I have tried lowering my bitrate to as low as 100, and from what I could tell at that low of a bitrate it was still pausing and buffering. I have tried changing the resolution, etc. On my other laptop, an oldddddd ASUS laptop manufactured in 2010 can record videos on OBS better than my current laptop. I am confused on this, please help!

A clean log file is required to help fix your issue. To make a clean log file, please follow these steps:

1) Restart OBS
2) Start your stream/recording for about 30 seconds. Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc.
3) Stop your stream/recording.
4) Select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File. Copy the URL and paste it here.

From your log:

Code:
preset: medium

You should not have changed this setting, and you should probably not be in advanced output mode.

Advanced output mode, while allowing for more fine-tuning of options, does not automatically mean that your stream or recording will have better quality. Often, it can result in lower quality, because it can allow changes to settings that really shouldn't be changed. In most cases, Simple output mode is the best option to get the most out of OBS.

To change back to Simple output mode:
1) Go to Settings > Output in OBS.
2) Change "Output Mode" from "Advanced" to "Simple".

Also, bitrate has very little, if any, impact on overall performance, so adjusting that is not something you should be changing to troubleshoot performance issues.

Simple is where I was before and I still had the problem. I went into advanced to change some settings to try and fix the problem on my own before asking here. Switching back to simple did not fix my problem.

Can you grab me a new log file with Simple mode settings? From the log you posted, the issue was most predominantly your encoder settings, being the preset at medium.
