Recording 1/2 of my 49" wide monitor at a time.

In order to produce training videos that cross between AutoCAD and Chief Architect, I would like to capture only one half of my monitor at a time such that the aspect ration remains 16:9. I have tried several attempts to resize the recording window without much luck. I feel that the software is likely sophisticated enough to do this, just not me.

I think all you have to do is move/re-size that red line to the area that you want to capture, but I could be wrong.
I know I've changed the capture area of my 27" monitors to capture just a lower area on the monitor and I've also set up a scene to capture 2 monitors at once. How I did this in both instances is by moving/re-sizing that red line around.

Use crop, right click mouse on element and select Transformation / edit.
Or select element and push alt key now click on red line, line switch color to green, now move mouse.

In Settings->Video, set canvas and output size to some 16:9 resolution to create a video with this aspect ratio. If your ultrawide monitor is 3840x1080, set canvas size to 1920x1080. After you did this, resize and crop sources accordingly so they fit the new canvas size.

Koala, That worked beautifully and I named that source 49" Monitor - R as it defaulted to the right half of the screen. I wish to create the same for the right side, but again, following these steps, I am stuck with 32:9 aspect ratio, even when I again chose the canvas size of 1920x1080. Thoughts?

Here are the settings which match those used for 49" Monitor - L

Hold the alt key down and drag the right side red border to the left until you only see the left side of the display. Now, without holding any key down, drag the lower right red square until the source fills the whole 1920x1080 preview window. Or go to Transform->Edit Transforms and crop the right by 1920.
