hello,
I am new to the forum and to OBS but so far I handled everything.
now I need to install a camera that runs over Ethernet, an IP camera.
is there a way to setup a camera over IP in OBS? because I haven't seen anything directly linked to that.
any help would be appreciated.

the camera isn't branded.
its IP is 192.168.1.188 but I can only log on to it through a browser with the IP 10.0.0.22
username is admin and no password.

Actual device (virtual cam as well).

And try to remove ":" from the address string after "user_name" (or add password in the cam settings itself and use it after the ":" symbol in media source).

What do you mean? You have source 'Video Capture Device' for local connected devices, 'Media Source' - for general media feed, 'Browser Source' - to capture network pages and so on.

The method of troubleshooting I provided to you - the only method I experienced by myself. It is bit strange that you don't know how to access the camera you have (usually it works out of the box).

Is your cam works now?

unfortunately still doesn't work.
and i don't have any other device to connect so i can open a "video capture device".
guess ill have to wait on that one.

assigned password, still doesn't log in when i use 'browser source', and even if it did i would have the camera browser interface in the scene which is undesirable.
i believe it should be 'media source' but i it doesn't work at all.

virtual cameras:
https://www.dev47apps.com/droidcam/windows/
(you don't need android part of the software for testing and troubleshoot, only virtual cameras from this - you'll get 4 cams. Later you can uninstall all software completely or even reinstall your system if you bit paranoid and wish clear system. Of course, you can make restore point before making any changes to the system).

@EBrito for browser source, was mentioned above, about how to install standalone Flash Plugin for Chromium PPAPI.
