Question / Help Record webcam into separate file?

I use OBS to record tutorials (no live streaming).
I want to be able to move my webcam recording around when I edit my videos later.
Is there a way to record the webcam into an independent video file? I tried running 2 instances of OBS at the same time but then the videos become extremely laggy.

Per-source and selective recording is planned, but not implemented at this time.

If you're just recording locally, whack the preset to Ultrafast and use CQP or CRF as your recording method. It'll drastically lower the system load, and just end up with larger files until you re-compress the final output after editing. Should let you run two instances with few problems, unless your system is extremely low-end.
