Question / Help Record (UDP) to VPN (Bind to IP does not appear to Work) Issues

Hello,

I am at the end of my rope in trying to resolve this issue, so hopefully someone can assist. I am trying to stream multicast to a VPN that my friends are connected to using ZeroTier.

I currently have OBS configured to Record to URL using UDP 239.0.0.1:9999, and have verified that it works on the same machine with VLC network stream, but the friend I tested with was not able to. I used the Bind to IP to choose the IP within the VPN that we are both connected to. I was still able to see it in VLC after this change, but nothing for him.

Is there a better way to go about this? Let me know if there is other information you need that I may have forgotten to mention.

Hey thanks R1CH, I gave that a go using the VPN IP address of my machine with no luck. Would you happen to know if I should be using a different IP address? I'll also look into just setting up an RTMP server as that may end up being easier overall.

Hi,
I'm struggling with the same problem. I'm trying to get the UDP Multicast udp://220.0.0.0:3400 to travel over the ZeroTier.
Have you had success and if so can you share it with me! Thanks - Andrew
